Top US architect James Carpenter, the world’s leading pioneer working with daylight, has been named as the keynote speaker for the Lighting Design Awards 2018.

Carpenter – whose projects include the multi-award winning Sky Reflector Net at the Fulton Center and design work on The 7 World Trade Center – will open the 42st presentations evening of the awards ceremony on Thursday 3 May 2018. 

In a special keynote, he will share his insights from the  intersection of art, engineering and architecture.

The presentations ceremony will be introduced by the editor of Lighting magazine Jill Entwistle and hosted by TV comedian Mark Watson.

The 40under40 list of talented lighting designers will also be revealed during the evening. 

The official after-show party – complete with top bands – follows into the early hours.
